I'd love to see a super hi-res, detailed Spilhaus-projection that also included navigable waterways accessible from the oceans, such as the Mississippi, Amazon, Nile, etc. Perhaps define the boundaries of the map as the continental divides. I wonder if this could be created automatically from OpenMaps or something?
At first blush, an interesting thing about this projection is that it seems "accurate", meaning that things that are close together on the map are close together, and those that are far away are far away. It breaks down at the Bering Strait and the Panama Canal, but still sort of interesting.

Ideal way to plot any biological migrations or ranges. Whales, turtles, sharks, albatrosses, seals, penguins etc.
