Looking at the logs from my reader service I see mostly 404s from YouTube from 2024-04-27 21:35 to 2024-04-28 07:00 UTC. There was also a 2h period in the middle with mostly 200s and a few 500s.
This is only based on a few-hundred requests because the service uses WebSub for YouTube so fetches primary occur when a video is published or updated.
On that note, I used to follow YT RSS feeds to keep track of the recently uploaded tech conference talks. I felt tired of it as it provides no filtering/sorting/grouping options. To solve this problem, I built a script to track all new talk uploads with an option to sort/filter/group.
Then I decided to scale it and created a newsletter based on that called Tech Talks Weekly. Each issue contains a list of all the recently uploaded tech conference talks from (currently) over 100 tech conferences. The list is grouped by conference and sorted by the view count. Just sharing it here in case you find it useful.

It works fine on my side...
So the question is now whether they also come back this time as they did before, or whether this time it’s for good.
Its definitly more serious this time.
Works fine for me.
