I bought this game for my Steam Deck a few weeks ago and so far dumped about 15 ish hours into it. What makes this game so special and different is that's it's basically a PS2 game that has been upgraded and modernized. Pretty much all modern racing games (Forza, NFS, etc) are piled on with tons of menus, micro transactions, this type of currency and that type of currency, lots of "events" and a heavy focus on online interaction. This game does none of this and it's just so so refreshing.
I highly highly recommend anyone into racing games pick this up.
Yeah it's kind of a bummer that with all the awesome ways games have evolved in the past 20 years or so, they've also picked up really bad habits along the way.
For a refreshing alternative, check out Astro Bot if you have a Playstation. All of the wow-factor of modern state-of-the-art gaming with none of the microtransaction, over-stuffed clutter bs.
I do hope that we see more like TXR too -- classic gameplay (hard to stomach PS2 as classic but here we are) with modern technology capability.
It seems like we've been seeing that in the indie space for a while with all of the pixel-y 16-bit style games. I think we're going to start seeing a lot more PS2-era style retro games and I can't wait.
Not being flippant, but don't browse the internet on mobile. For this site in paticular, the 'normal' adblocker setup + noscript works beautifully. Noscript in particular is blocking scripts from 7 additional domains when visiting this site.
I cry every time my default mode network starts fantasizing about rendering webpages on a server and streaming the output to my iPhone just so I can browse the web the way I'd normally do it on literally any other platform.

Video ads that glues themselves to the top of a __mobile__ screen when scrolled through is the craziest and hostile ad style I've seen by now.
Is there some links to where to get the preview itself?

ublock origin works great on Firefox. On Android.

I use Ka-Block for iOS. It says its for Safari, but it blocks ads in Firefox as well.

uBlock Origin works great with Orion Browser on iOS.
Not to be deliberately obtuse, but, what exactly is interesting about a new car game?
It's a revival of a very old franchise that is highly regarded.
> ... Genki's first major platform racing game release in 18 years as the last major release was back in September 2007

It's also a lot of fun and a bit of a throwback to a bygone style of racing game.
Ah thank you.
It's basically NFS Underground, but made today.
