I do find some of the slop about music streaming services being interesting when the way I use Spotify hasn't changed since I initially subscribed in 2013.
I don't use mood playlists, I use my playlists I make myself and perhaps the top 100/200 playlists.
I wouldn't say Spotify is poisoning music in the digital age. But sure, if you want to go back to CD's where music was more expensive and more dominated by key players then be my guest.
The music producers, distributions, streaming platforms etc have always taken a cut of your music, first it was radio, MTV, CD's and now its streaming.
Spotify has done some enshittification pushing stuff like their playlists in my face since some years.
But I wouldn't say they are piosoning the industry like the author suggests just yet? If you want esoteric bands on the platform there will be slop too.

Yeah, I don’t see anything new in the article, record labels have been sucking artist’s blood since forever, it was radio and billboard lists yesterday, it’s internet and algorithms today.
