I recently read “The impending Crisis in the south: How to meet it” from Hinton Helper
In it, among all of its tables and charts was a list of cabinets and it stood out to me that when the book was written in 1857 it still was “The Department of War” with Secretaries of War and Secretary of Navy separated - practically the Army and Navy.
I prefer Ministry of Peace or MINIPAX.
