It's ultimately an ultra locked down Android game console. Stores should be banned from selling open box systems though, it's not fair to the next owner.
We have so many good Android consoles coming out right now. Your can buy a steam deck for around the same price.
I'll miss fire emblem, but I refuse to rent such an expensive device until Nintendo remotely bricks it. Keep in mind if they accidentally auto ban you , you'll have no real recourse.
Fire Emblem is probably the only Nintendo franchise I care about, but arguably Valkyria Chronicles( which Sega is probably done with) supercedes it in many ways.
The gameplay is very different, but both are tactical story heavy games.
Just buy one used and hack it (SW1). I wanted one to play games with my gf. I bought one a bit ago, sent it to be mod chipped, will get it back probably tomorrow. Win win to me. Nintendo doesn't see a dollar from me, and I get to enjoy all their catalogue.
Will probably move to the SW2 later, if it ever gets hacked.
Title: New Nintendo DRM bans consoles, makes users beg for forgiveness
When RMS has the itch to play a video game, he emails someone to do it for him.
(hey hey, I kid because I love)
If you live in a place with consumer protection laws you can probably get a refund on all your games and your console by suing them
Just don’t buy the piece of shit, then.
This has always been the answer.

It's literally not running Android though. It's a complete from scratch OS, nothing shared with the linux based world
Not to forget that ultimately it's just the same games over and over again. Sometimes they change enough that everyone gets excited.

Yeah man. Spread the message to the teenagers too.
Banned? I mean theres a long list of problematic products before we come to this.
The open box consoles anyway. You have no control over if the first user has been banned.
True, hopefully people buy from a place with a good return policy
