I believe other exploits might have been there previously but privately informed and patched. Today itself someone posted that a 10K bounty was paid by Sony to someone for reporting an exploit in ps5
Similar attacks have been seen for other consoles too. Just a matter of time and motivation that we get something like this for the later gen consoles too. Something similar was recently released for the ps5 albeit with a particular game dvd
Xbox one is probably the last console gen which was able to be hacked like this. Modern consoles are almost always online hence would be pretty pretty much difficult to perform something like this
Probably nobody paid much heed to it due to ms allowing any unsigned stuff to be run on xboxes by paying an one time fee. Only condition being no licensed or released games can be run in that mode

As soon as someone can maybe simplify the entire voltage glitching, boot ROM extraction etc process. After that it SHOULd be easier
