Terrible choice in name, since LILO has been in use as a Linux bootloader for a very long time (since June 29, 1992 per Wikipedia below):

I guess doing a web search, before naming things, is not thought in the Computer Science classes.
No, we mostly spent our time on data structures and algorithms.
