It always felt less rigorous compared to other humanities, because the content and ideas felt activist and because those teaching it (professors) were biased, always trying to prove their political views rather than treating the field like a science. I feel like a more generic degree of humanities would work better. When you have fields that are very focused, they tend to have a lot of preset ideas.
