Hi HN! This is my first post ever here, and I am frankly a bit nervous :)
I have been building a European git host called gitoro.com, because I wanted a European alternative to github/gitlab/bitbucket without selfhosting - and because I thought it was an interesting project. What I ended up with is a SaaS that I dogfood every day and that I have grown to really like. It was initially mainly hand written, but now I use more and more AI and gitoro fully supports agentic development where the agent can do everything you want it to do.
Some interesting features that I use a lot myself:
-Service accounts. Agents have their own user that have a subset of my users permissions (and they appear as unique users in the UI).
-Agentic review. Gitoro can do agentic reviews that are not too noisy and can learn. It's very handy to have a second opinion!
-Issues and PRs. Agents and myself can always look at the history, and it's easy to log a issue and review agent work
-MCP. I never create issues or prs anymore, I just review them.
-Gitlab compatible pipelines.
The platform is hosted in France by OVH (Managed kubernetes).
Gitoro has a growing community of users and has been running without any issues since launch 5 months ago.
There is a free version (obviously) so please check it out if you want to support european software - and let me know if you are missing anything!
