Built a small browser-based protein search/MSA tool to experiment with webGPU. The idea came from trying to generate an MSA for AlphaFold2 on my MacBook. MMseqs2 has GPU acceleration but doesn't target Apple GPUs, so I wondered how far a browser-only webGPU implementation would go.
It scans a protein database on the GPU, realigns best candidates, and exports query-centered alignments. I'm not an MSA expert, so this is not meant to be a rendition of MMseqs2 or any other tools. Any feedback is appreciated, especially on places where the biology/search is naive.
