I was curious about who were some serious Christian programmers throughout history and thought I’d share this finding. Didn’t expect to meet a fellow believer! We’re probably a small group here on HN.
There's a nice beautiful and long video about a Yale professor of Computer Science debunking Evolution solely by Computer Science and Mathematical logic.
The majority of HN traffic originates from the US and Europe, and in both places a clear majority of the population identify as Christian. So, there are almost certainly quite a lot of Christian programmers here.
Oh yeah? I’d be super interested in creating Discord for them if that’s the case. My observation has been that HN is exceedingly hostile to anything God related.
YC is academia AKA wealthy foreigners: Indians, Chinese, Canadian Jews, Israeli Jews, Korean "Lets goo!" kids, and Slavic/Arab Jews from Eurasia.
(The only real qualifier is being born into wealth)
HN on the other hand is most of that demographic (although YC uses HN more like an advertising platform), plus a million or so armchair experts on the sidelines (mostly Christians from US, Canada, and UK).
What gets you downvoted, flagged, banned, removed, crucified is saying you're an atheist.
I feel 90% people may not know that David Knuth is Christian in his beliefs. I myself have come to know today only.
