A thing I've been wondering is - ever since the 2024 election, red states have kinda done this victory lap around rich folks leaving San Francisco and New York and moving to Texas and Florida, and how red state governance is better and yada.
And I'm not here to defend SF and NYC, there are problems there, but I've often wondered. Is there a be careful what you wish for thing that could happen here? Is the first thing being moved the tax revenue and jobs? Or is it like environmentally hazardous business practices and litigation. Do billionaires feel a sense of obligation to these places? Or is it more transactional.
