If you think the past always predicts the future then you are wrong. When predicting the future you must look at more than the past and use common sense and the situation at hand.
AI is categorically a different beast than all of the technology of the past. This is obvious. To assume that it will have the exact same outcomes as past technology is an exercise in stupidity.
Also to assume that AI as it is now is the final state and astronomical improvement in the future won’t happen is also an exercise in pure stupidity.
AI is a tipping point, a paradigm shift. I don’t know the future but it is the first technology that can potentially answer yes to every single question on that comic strip.
