There are like hundreds of companies in roughly amenable positions. In a just world, Microsoft/Apple/Google would hold themselves similarly culpable for building mass surveillance systems, but nobody seems to care. Silicon Valley lost their chance, China will develop this no matter what Congress says. OpenAI and Anthropic fucked themselves over financially and are signalling for a bailout.
They’re lying. They can’t do this. They’re trying to get the government to shut out competitors.
