Pilot reported an overspeed condition. Overspeed can cause structural and control failure leading to loss of control. And still frame just before the crash shows damaged/missing horizontal stabilizer.
Did overspeed occur? Why? Did it cause aircraft damage leading to loss of control?
Just listened the horrific ATC audio. Why didn't she initiate LearJet's heated wing de-icing? When OAT is around 0C should have been turned on. They were flying in -47C that's ridiculous cold.
Warning. Heard people say on Reddit to NOT listen to that audio.
Yeah will have to wait a year or two to find out the cause.
I'll just say I wonder why they flew in that weather system at all. From watching too many accidents on YT I am guessing with private aviation there is more pressure to get it done.
On flight radar where I live if there is a fraction of the thunder storms the sky is a ghost town and they will delay departures from other airports say 1hr flight away to wait it out.
Let’s all breathe for a moment to keep rationality:
1. These people were going from Austin to Freeport Bahamas. Statistically they’d have had much higher chances of dying if they went with car + ferry
2. Considering how everythinng related to aviation immediately becomes first page news this is the first incident with victims in iirc 60ish days for civil aviation on a global level . So much more life was enjoyed thanks to aviation and so many miles traveled and places visited in safety thanks to aviation
3. dying in a scary manner should not be considered a pejorative compared to dying while in sleep. The point of living is to fill one’s life , not avoiding ‘scary deaths’ and aviation makes you fill your life better than any means of transportation known to man
Most of the same considerations also apply to nuclear energy
I listened to the audio. Sadly, an emotional female pilot knowing she was about to crash. From 30,000 ft to ground zero in less than 60 sec, they said.
Maybe turn audio off, having read other comments it seems to be extremely unpleasant for some people.

The calm in the pilot's voice, then alternating with sheer terror and panic. Holy shit it's awful.
I wish I hadn't listened to that ATC recording. Read the transcript instead, trust me on this one.

We will have to wait a while to know for sure.

After the Wokes started the political proactivism of literally claiming that "Professionalism is a Racial Construct" or "sexism" ([Professionalism as a Racial Construct](https://www.uclalawreview.org/professionalism-as-a-racial-co...), [You Call It Professionalism; I Call It Oppression in a Three-Piece Suit](https://everydayfeminism.com/2015/02/professionalism-and-opp...)), there had been a lot of airplane crashes caused by inconceivable incompetence on the part of the pilots.
